Did you know?A little history

We've known since the 1930s that certain fatty acids are essential to life; it took until the end of the 20th century to understand their precise role in the skin.

Researchers then identified ceramides, the molecules that hold epidermal cells together like bricks in a wall, and showed that omegas are essential components of them1. Skin lacking omegas sees this wall crumble: it becomes dry, reactive and permeable.

Yon-Ka built its Serum Omega around a complex, Lipo-Restore, rather than a single oil, to cover all three omega families in one formula.

General useThe skin's brick wall

Picture the epidermis as a wall: the cells are the bricks, the lipids (including ceramides) are the mortar. Omegas 3 and 6, which the body doesn't make, are indispensable components of that mortar. Without them, the wall lets water escape and lets aggressors in2.

Three omegas, three roles: omega 3 is the most calming, omega 6 supports barrier structure, omega 9 brings suppleness and comfort. Together, they work in synergy rather than alone.

Cosmetic useTheir properties on skin

  • RepairingThey rebuild the lipid mortar of the skin barrier1.
  • NourishingThey make up for the lipid deficiencies of very dry skin.
  • Anti-dehydrationA stronger barrier holds water better and limits transepidermal water loss.
  • SoothingOmega-3s help calm inflammation in sensitized skin2.
  • SofteningOmega 9 brings immediate comfort and suppleness.
  • ProtectiveRich in natural vitamin E, they protect skin and formula from oxidation.

  • Barrier-repairing serums;
  • Deeply nourishing care, in winter or dry climates;
  • A complement to a dry-skin routine, under your cream.

The Yon-Ka approach

Serum Omega is our answer for skin at the end of its rope: skin that feels tight, flakes, and reacts to the slightest change. Rather than a single active, a complete complex of plant oils to give the barrier everything it needs.

The science of the active, the sensoriality of the plant.

How to useAdding them to your ritual

  1. In the evening, as a course
    Serum Omega on cleansed skin, alone or under your usual cream, during periods of extreme cold or dryness.
  2. When skin needs it most
    A few extra drops on the tightest areas (cheeks, around the lips).

Good to knowStorage and precautions

Rich in fragile fatty acids, the complex is protected by the natural vitamin E of its oils. Close your bottle tightly and store it away from light.

Very well tolerated, with no known contraindications for topical use, including during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
