Benefits of Green Smoothies
Low in CaloriesOne of the most obvious benefits is that green smoothies are healthier than fruit “juices” that often contain artificial flavors and extra sugar. While they are low in calories, they are still very filling.
Immune BoosterGreen smoothies have the ability to improve your immune system and protect you from getting sick. This is because they are chock full of high amounts of natural vitamins and nutrients. Two of the most prevalent vitamins in green smoothies are vitamin A (which promotes healthy vision) and vitamin k (essential to building strong bones).
InexpensiveBuying smoothies can add up as they cost upwards of $6 but making one in the comfort of your own home can cost you as little as a few cents. As an added treat, buy your vegetables at your local farmers market. You will be helping a local business as well as keeping yourself healthy!
A Full Day’s Worth of VegetablesBecause it is blended, a green smoothie contains much more greens than can be found in even a large salad. This means you can consume more leafy greens and other vegetables in a faster, easier way without even noticing.
Energy BoosterThe vitamins and nutrients found in green smoothies will give you a big boost of energy. In fact, they are a much healthier way to jump-start your day than a cup of coffee.
